About Cedar Grove NJ
Cedar Grove is a township in north central Essex County, NJ. As of the 2018 census it has an approximate population of 12,549 residents. The area that is now known as Cedar Grove was incorporated as the Township of Verona by an act of the New Jersey Legislature in 1892. The name was formally changed to Cedar Grove in 1908. Its name is derived from the cedar trees that once covered its hillsides. Cedar Grove borders on the Essex County towns of Montclair, North Caldwell and Verona. It also borders Little Falls in Passaic County.
