About Dix Hills NY

Dix Hills is a hamlet and census-designated place in Suffolk County, NY As of a 2020 census it has an approximate population of 23,995 residents. Although in the past there have been proposals for Dix Hills and several of its neighbors to incorporate into a single village, these proposals have never been successful. Dix Hills remains an unincorporated hamlet. Settlers traded goods with the native Secatogue tribe in the area in the late 17th century, and the land was known as Dick’s Hills. By 1911 it had become known as Dix Hills. Dix Hills is in central Long Island in the town of Huntington, bordered by Babylon.
