About Union NJ
Union is a township in Union County, NJ with an approximate population of 59,728 residents. The area that is now known as Union NJ was settled in 1667 and called Connecticut Farms. It was the third English-speaking settlement in New Jersey after Elizabeth and Newark. Union was incorporated as a township in 1808 by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. This was while it was still part of Essex County, and it became part of the newly formed Union County in 1857. Union is bordered by the Union County municipalities of Hillside, Elizabeth, Roselle Park, Kenilworth and Springfield.
